Yahhhh!! I'm done until May 8th!

*sigh* That does still mean that I have to prepare for English, but the worst of it is over. :)
Plus, I finished my 3-hour Stats exam in an hour, checked it over for about 30 minutes, and was outta there... Heh. I like that the newest, hardest topic was mostly not covered on the exam, really... Oh, and I also got in the 63% or over range on my Accounting exam, so all is well in the world. ;)

Sean Connery on League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: "My first response to the script was that it was a bit far-out. But that never stopped me before. It didn't stop me from doing Zardoz, I also got offered The Lord of the Rings, and I turned it down because I didn't understand it. I was offered The Matrix – twice – and I turned it down because I didn't understand it. I don't understand this movie, but I'll be damned if I'm going to turn it down."

*grins* Interesting... I wonder who he would have played in The Matrix? And I still can't see him as Gandalf...

Hmmm, so 1 down, 4 to go...

Studying sucks. But the summer will be here before I know it...right? Right?!

Oh, and Happy Earth Day!

Just taking a "break" that I totally can't afford...

According to this mash game, I will live in Shack, drive a red Mercedes, marry Jude Law and have 2 kids, and be a writer in New Zealand. Sounds fine to me. :) Hehe.

1. What's good on the radio these days?
Well since I already answered this question on Suzy's blog, I'll just say that some of my favorite music artists are Savage Garden (x), Our Lady Peace, Darren Hayes, Sheryl Crow, Bif Naked, Dido, Tori Amos (yes, I do like the screaming banshee more and more as I go along...) … as to which of those are actually on the radio right now...*shrugs* You've just got to listen at just the right times, really. :) There are also other artists of whom I like the occasional song, but I'm lazy so I'm not gonna write those down right now. :)

2. ...the sidewalks of New York, eh? Sounds riveting....
Yeah, it wasn't bad...written and directed by Ed Burns...not my most favoritest movie in the world, but interesting.

So anyway, a while ago on someone's site, they had a list up of all the things that made them happy...I thought it sounded like a good idea to have a list of the little happy things, so when I have more time (like, not now!) I think I'll make one, too. :) It seems like it'd be a good thing to have around when you're feeling down...

Okay, just going to answer some questions... :)

1. ok, I've got a REAL question for ya: what font on Suzy's banner did you use for Suzy Q and Juliet and where can I get it? It's so pretty!
*grins* Glad you like it. Seems you’re starting to like fonts as much as I do…that can’t be good ;) You already found the font, but just wanted to say that I also added it to my fonts page (*points to link on the left*) :)

2. haha forget it... I just found it through your type:obsession page thing. I'm a resourceful girl, aren't I?
Hehe, very. :) You looked at my fanlistings page? Awww, how sweet.

3. What are your favourite fonts?
It really depends what I’m using it for…some are good for titles/headlines, some are good for actual blocks of writing, some are just for fun or from movies, logos, etc. …I put some of the ones I like on my fonts page, but there are a lot of others that I like as well.

4. How many bytes in a sandwich?
Um…I don’t know about yours, but my sandwiches tend to have more along the lines of, say, a burger or lettuce or ketchup or something than any bytes…of course, I maybe could have been making sandwiches just entirely wrong all these years…why didn’t anyone tell me?!

5. Ni hao ma?
Not bad, thanks.

6. Pourquoi est-ce que la poule a traversé la rue?
Puisqu’elle n’aime plus la classe du Français. Elle essayait d'être heurtée par une voiture. (If any of that is wrong, blame it on my French "tutor" over at Altavista Translations...) :)

Woo! Final Pirates of the Caribbean poster! :)

And in semi-unrelated movie news, they finally cast the role of Helen in Troy...an actress/model by the name of Diane (apparently pronounced "dee AHN") Kruger. Hmm, interesting. People have been wondering who would get cast for quite some time now... (Press release here.)

I just had my last English class of the year (and who knows when I'll get to take another English course? We'll see how my scheduling works out... :P). Ugh, this utterly and completely blows. That was my favorite course all year, and I love my prof... :P Ugh.

I've only got one class left - Stats - in my first year of University. How weird is that? It's also weird to say bye to people who I may or may not (may not is more likely) ever see again or have classes with again. Ugh, this is the complete suck. I did get a bunch of people to sign my yearbook, though, which is pretty nice and better than nothing. I'll miss seeing people in classes, though, and my suitemates too...

In other news, I think I just stumbled across the blog of someone in my English class - I don't know who it is but the person just wrote an entry about the English class he/she just had and it sounds really, really similar to the specifics of my class... I wonder if it's anyone I know... the title of his/her blog is verisimilitude, which was a key word in our English course this year and was what made me notice his/her blog on the "recently updated blogs" list. Hmmm....

Oh yeah, almost forgot to answer questions...here we go...

1. Girls...girls..what have we done to ourselves?
Indeed…what have we girls done to ourselves…? *regards anonymous questioner curiously* Have I done something to myself that I don’t know about?

2. Happy?
…About…what…exactly? Specifically? Or in general?

3. Why the heck is Susan studying CHEM of all things when she has English AND Stats!!!?? (note: “because she's crazy” will not suffice.
If this is who I think it is, a better question might be, “Why is Susan talking about herself in the third person?” But maybe that’s just me…

Well, other than the obvious (and apparently insufficient) “because she’s crazy” response, I would say that she perhaps feels there is more to study for Chem than for English and Stats? That’s just a complete conjecture, though, really. I’m making up stuff now since I can’t just say that she’s nuts. ;)

Yay!

This was posted on the Tolkien Online message board (and no, I don't normally visit that site; I got the link from somewhere else): "In the new edition of the Fan Club magazine, PJ says there will be 43 minutes of new material in the extended TTT. It was completed over the Christmas and New Year's holidays. Howard Shore is still putting the finishing touches on the extended score (that was back in January when the interview was given). He says this is more than the 32 minutes in FOTR. He describes 2 new scenes with Merry, Pippin and Treebeard. 43 minutes folks! Sounds very good to me. PJ also indicates he had locked the first 25 minutews of ROTK at that time also."

*grins*

What I wrote down while waiting for Accounting class to start:

[10:19 AM]
everything looks like a photograph today. and even though the things in the photos would only really interest me, it is amazing. it feels amazing. i wish every day looked like this. there is potential in every grain of dust, dirt...the world is beautiful.
[10:21 AM]

yes. walking to class today I seemed oddly inspired, in a cheesy sort of way.
the only problem with this whole world view i had this morning is that i couldn't take a decent photo with a decent camera (you know, the good kind) if I tried. or well, maybe I could, but like I said...wouldn't have anything really interesting (to other people) to actually take photos of. besides. I don't even have a camera. *laughs*

Anyhoo, guess that's it for now. Just wanted to come spout the pseudo-artistic babble that popped into my head before I had to think about financial statements. Luckily though, I came out of my last Accounting class (almost an hour early, no less) and the world still looks photographic. Yayness. :)

1. heh. How long did it take you to ANSWER all those?
Heh. At least a good half hour. These ones went much more quickly. :)

2. What if it all means something?
I don’t know…but it bloody well better not all mean something. The world is overwhelming enough as it is without everything bloody meaning something. But then, maybe everything already DOES mean something. I think it might. Can you honestly think of anything that doesn’t mean something to someone or something? Everything DOES mean something.

(And in other news, I still don't have that Chantal Kreviazuk album. Hmm. Haven't shopped in a while in general, either. Must do something about that after exams are finished...)

3. why not compare apples and oranges?
I think it’s a perfectly valid comparison. I mean, first of all, they’re both fruits. I really don’t get what’s so non-comparable about them… Honestly. They’ve got as many similarities and differences as anything else that gets compared with anything else without any controversy. Hrrrmph. :)

4. What catalyst is required to convert a haloalkane to an alkene?
*searches her msn chat transcripts* well, apparently, the correct answer is concentrated OH- and heat. *coughs* SOMEONE has to stop reading their Chem notes while asking me questions that SOMEONE (and it’s not me!) already knows the answer to. :P :)

[4:44 PM]
HEEHHEEH!!! The madness spreads! Suzy q just started her own blog! *giggles* Everyone reading this (uh, everyone besides Suzy, that is...assuming there ARE other people reading this?? :)) go leave encouraging comments on her first blog entry :) Although she does have an exam tomorrow, so I don't know if leaving comments will necessarily make her blog again any sooner. :) Good luck, Suz! And I'm so glad you're a blogger now. :)

 Tuesday, April 08, 2003

Yay! People left me comments :) Anyway, I've got some work to do but I figured I should answer all the questions I've been sent so far. Yippee! :) Btw, Suz - I appreciate you choosing to procrastinate by visiting my blog and sending me 33 questions. *grins* I'm always available to aid in procrastination... j/k :) Also got one question from someone named Shary (who was the first person to leave comments on my last 2 entries, so if you're reading this...thanks!) and so here they all are now. :) Hope everyone reading this has a great rest-of-the-week and weekend.

1. Want to be friends? ---Shary
Uh, sure, I wouldn’t mind having more friends online. :) Plus, the ones I have in real life are pretty psycho. ;) I'll be sure to check out your blog once I get some free time.

2. What is the world coming to?
I don’t really know, but… “What the world needs now is love, sweet love; it’s the only thing that there’s just too little of…What the world needs now is love, sweet love; no, not just for some but for everyone.”

3. WHY DOES YOUR CHATTERBOX HATE ME?
It’s got issues. I’ll discuss its feelings of hatred with it and hopefully it’ll behave itself then. :)

4. What is Todd's favourite cheese?
Jackie just called up and said it was a form of Roquefort. We'll see about that...

5. Where are the Snowdens of yesteryear?
Awww, crap. I really should read Catch-22 sometime. Though I probably couldn’t answer the question then, either. :)

6. I'm sweet and juicy. What's your angle?
Uh…must be obtuse, since I don’t really understand this question…

7. whatisthematrix?
An extremely elaborate world constructed by the computers in order to…ah hell, I’ll just pretend the question was “what’s whatisthematrix.com?” and go from there. And the answer to that question is that whatisthematrix.com is the website for the Matrix movies…where you’ll probably find out even less about what the matrix is. ;) Or not. Check it out. :)

8. Where's waldo?
I don’t know, dude, but I’d look in those books with that little guy wearing red and white in them…

9. Why do the people with the least to say say it the loudest?
Because the people with a lot to say can’t figure out how to say it all all at once, and so the people with the least to say say their nothings instead.

10. Why the HELL is it snowing in April?
Because the evil-spirited weather gods are waiting for my exams to start before it gets even remotely sunny, warm, or pleasant outside; that way they know I’ll be stuck inside, studying.

11. When it rains, why don't sheep shrink?
*laughs* THAT is an excellent question. Maybe they’re pre-shrunk.

12. What do you do if you see an endangered animal eating an endangered plant?
Well, if I was gonna do anything, I’d probably stop the animal (you know, if it was soft, small, cuddly and good-natured) from eating the plant and give it something else to eat, and like, take the animal and the endangered plant to some preserve-the-endangered-species type place… But really, what are the chances that I’d see the animal and the plant in the first place, and know what’s on the endangered species list?

13. Got milk?
Yes, I do, actually! I’m running low, though. Mmm, milk.

14. What's the meaning of life?
42…

15. What is the sound of one hand clapping?
Heehee. Everyone go watch that Simpsons episode. :)

16. If a tree falls in the forest and...yeah yeah yeah....
“But Bart, how can sound exist if there’s no one there to hear it?”
Lisa rocks. :) Again, go watch the episode called “Dead Putting Society”.

17. What is the ultimate goal of a question?
A question mark.

18. What if a chicken is just an egg's way of making more eggs?
Um…but…why would an egg destroy itself to create a chicken to create more eggs?

19. Why does my mom have 5 closets full of 'nothing to wear'?
*grins* I don’t know, but I have about 2 and I don’t have anything to wear, either.

20. If toast always lands butter side down, and cats always land on their feet, what happens if you strap a piece of toast butter side up to the back of a cat and drop it?
Something freakin’ hilarious, that’s what. ;)

21. ...why, oh why, am I not working right now....?
I don’t know, hun. You’re always such a slacker hard worker. In fact, you probably slack off work too hard, you slacker workaholic!

22. You're not REGRETTING adding this little question box yet, are you?
Er, not YET… ;)

23. What's new, pussycat?
Whoa, oh, whoa, oh…

24. Wherefore art thou Romeo?
Um…the last time I checked, I was Juliet. So I don’t know…but what’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

25. Who's the first chick on your banner? Tara? I don't recognize her....
Indeedy-do. That is, in fact, Tara, who I quite liked. Wish she was still around, but hey, there’s probably more angst this way. ;)

26. Why, why, do I try to love you, try to love you when you really don't want me to...?
Well, you’re probably kind of a masochistic glutton for punishment if you’re in love with Narcissus. :) Well, maybe you like all those little rejections…

27. why does nose have an s and doze have a z?
‘Cause the S in “nose” is runny like a runny nose and the Z in “doze” is like the Z’s in ZZZZZZ. :)

28. Why does lose have one o and choose have 2?
‘Cause “lose” lost one of them, and “choose” couldn’t decide between two of them. Duh.

29. oh god, WHY is it snowing in april...?
“You can plan a pretty picnic, but you can't predict the weather, Ms. Jackson”…

30. Do you know who's asking you all of these questions? :)
Indeed. It’s my favorite former XF fan/current BNL fan/ear with feet/pseudo-suburbanite Suzy q. *grins*

31. How do you say 'nice shoes' in Elvish?
Uh, no idea. But I can tell you how to say “You're ugly and your mother dresses you funny” instead, if you want. ;)

32. who invented ping-pong?
The ping pong ball was invented by James Gibb and Jacques&Son were the first ones to see a “Ping-Pong” game in 1900. I actually researched that answer. Maybe in the future I’ll just stick with my standard response:

Questioner: “Who invented ping-pong?”
Me: “Mister Ping-pong!”

*grins*

33. Why is the alphabet in that order? Is it because of that song?
Yes, I’m sure it is. :)

34. WHY DO I HAVE SO MUCH WORK TO DO AND WHY AM I BLOWING IT OFF SO BADLY?!??
“I don’t care what my teacher says. I’m gonna be a supermodel.” …

There! *Whew* All done, all answered, nice question-free inbox for the time being. ;) Looking forward to more. Hehe.

 Saturday, April 05, 2003

All right, well I guess no one knows the way to Mordor anymore. ;)

That's okay. I was trying to wait for some comments before posting again, but I suppose I should just continue regardless since there's some stuff I can post about. :)

First off - there's some interesting Pirates of the Caribbean stuff happening on Sunday at 8:15 PM; the new trailer for the movie is going to air simultaneously (in what is called a "roadblock") on every channel affiliated with Disney (ABC, Disney Channel, ABC Family, ESPN [where it airs at 11:15 PM instead], ESPN 2, ESPNews, ESPN Classic, SOAPnet, Lifetime, Lifetime Movie Network, Lifetime Real Women, A&E, The History Channel, and E! Entertainment Television). It'll also be online at that time.

BUT, more interestingly, today the full trailer is actually already online and so I don't have to wail 'til tomorrow (I've heard about this movie for quite some time now...) although I still do think that roadblock idea is pretty cool.

Anyway. Since I'm sure all [2] of you are oh-so-interested in that, I'll also post a couple of surveys that Tiffany had in her LiveJournal (...except, of course, that it's my answers now instead of hers...but I guess you got that.) I actually filled these in yesterday, so... Okay. Here goes.
